Founded in March 2022 in Oregon, Ukrainian Care began as a local organization dedicated to humanitarian supply collection and shipment directly to Ukraine. As of today, they have collected 900 boxes of supplies that were shipped via air and sea freight. Those items were then distributed to Ukrainian communities by local humanitarian organizations within Ukraine.
The founder, Klavdia Ancheta Moore, is an American citizen, but grew up in Berdyansk City, Ukraine. Klavdia currently resides in Oregon and founded Ukrainian Care because of her love and dedication to her home country and its people.
Board members are not paid, but they may receive expense compensation that is allowed by the organization's bylaws. The board is accountable for the policies of the organization and is given powers by the organizations' Articles of Incorporation. The board's work is coordinated by the chair and the board may organize itself into various committees responsible for carrying out different operations.
Answer: Yes! Ukrainian Care Inc., is a 501(c)(3) organization that is exempt from federal income tax. Donations made to Ukrainian Care Inc., are tax-deductible.
Answer: Ukrainian Care Inc., will follow IRS rules for record keeping and substantiating donations. For all donations over $250, the donor will receive a written acknowledgement. The written acknowledgement will include the name of the organization, amount and description of the donation.
Answer: This is a personal decision for each donor to make.
